Job summary

ACCA Careers' client, a profitable UK distribution and technical solutions business, is seeking a No.1 finance leader in Gloucester. You will partner with the MD to drive performance, deliver robust financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

You'll lead a market-facing finance function, enhance controls and MI, support growth projects (including acquisitions) and challenge senior stakeholders with commercial insight.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent.
• Proven finance leadership experience in a commercial business.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data.
• Experience in stock-intensive, operational or supply chain-led environments.
• Strong understanding of financial control, reporting and business partnering.
• Systems and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function with accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Provide commercial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Deliver robust budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes.
• Improve financial controls, reporting capability and management information.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive business performance.
• Lead finance systems and process improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inventory, margin and working capital performance.
• Support growth projects, including potential acquisitions.
• Advise senior stakeholders and the leadership team.
