Job summary

Forge Talent is partnering with a PE-backed business on the outskirts of Manchester to appoint a Finance Director. This is an opportunity for a seasoned Financial Controller or Head of Finance to step into a Finance Director role and take genuine ownership of the finance function.

You will work closely with the Managing Director, providing financial insight to support growth, profitability and value creation, while challenging performance and influencing investment decisions across the business.

Qualifications

• Must have professional accounting qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong technical finance foundations with commercial curiosity.
• Experience in manufacturing/operationally-driven environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Owns the finance function across reporting, planning, forecasting, controls, cash and commercial analysis.
• Leads monthly reporting cycle and delivers accurate close.
• Owns budgeting, forecasting, three-year business plan and KPIs.
• Manages cash flow and working capital with 13-week cash forecasts.
• Provides financial leadership on significant capital investments and business cases.
• Develops robust financial models to support investment proposals and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to translate financial data into actionable insight.
• Supports ERP implementation over the next 12 months to improve processes and governance.
• Continuously develops the finance function to scale with growth and complexity.
