Job summary

HW Finance are proud to be working in Retained Partnership with a well-established manufacturing business to appoint a Finance Director into a key leadership position. The FD will be a genuine strategic partner to the MD, helping shape the direction of the business while leading a high-performing finance function.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting and cashflow, partner operational teams to improve profitability and performance, and lead business transformation across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience as Finance Director or Head of Finance in manufacturing or operational environment.
• Strong financial leadership and strategic thinking across finance and business.Stretching across board interactions and business partnering.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the finance function, from reporting and controls through to planning and analysis.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management to support informed decision making.
• Partner operational teams to improve profitability, efficiency and performance.
• Lead business improvement and transformation projects across the organisation.
• Develop a commercially focused finance team that adds real value to the wider business.
• Act as a trusted member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions and long-term planning.

The FD will be a genuine strategic partner to the Managing Director, helping shape the direction of the business while leading a high-performing finance function. Alongside financial leadership, you'll play an influential role across operational performance, business improvement and wider strategic initiatives.

The successful individual is likely to enjoy operating beyond the numbers - challenging decisions, improving processes, influencing stakeholders and helping deliver sustainable growth.

Key areas of focus include:

• Leading all aspects of the finance function, from reporting and controls through to planning and analysis.
• Driving budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management to support informed decision making.
• Partnering operational teams to improve profitability, efficiency and performance.
• Leading business improvement and transformation projects across the organisation.
• Developing a commercially focused finance team that adds real value to the wider business.
• Acting as a trusted member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions and long-term planning.

We're keen to speak with qualified Finance Directors (or ambitious Heads of Finance stepping into their first FD role) who have experience within manufacturing or another operationally focused environment.

You'll be commercially minded, naturally collaborative and comfortable influencing at Board level, whilst remaining hands-on where required.
