Honeypot Children's Charity seeks an experienced Director of Finance to join the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure financial sustainability, strengthen governance and support ambitious growth and social impact.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting, oversee risk management, and act as adviser to senior leadership. A qualified accountant with charity experience is highly preferred.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and commercially minded Director of Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our charity. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the organisation's financial sustainability, strengthening governance and controls, and supporting ambitious plans for growth and impact.

As Director of Finance, you will provide expert financial leadership across the organisation, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance and risk management. You will act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, Board of Trustees and senior leaders, translating complex financial information into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making.

Leading a small but dedicated finance team, you will drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and controls, while identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen financial performance and support organisational development. You will play a central role in ensuring the charity remains financially resilient and well positioned to maximise its impact for children and young people.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, or qualified through significant professional experience, with a strong track record of strategic financial leadership, budget management and governance. Experience within the charity, not-for-profit or public sector would be advantageous, alongside a passion for contributing to a purpose-driven organisation making a meaningful difference.
