Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to manage the contract payment mechanism, ensure data quality, and support reporting in a hybrid Wirral-based role. You will implement controls with managers, validate waste data, and produce monthly payments and KPI reports.

A strong Excel/Sheets skill set and attention to detail are essential for timely, accurate data handling. The role offers a 40-hour week, hybrid working with a Wirral office presence, plus benefits including pension, health

Qualifications

  • Excellent IT skills with advanced proficiency in spreadsheets including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  • Strong numerical understanding and data analysis capabilities.
  • Well organised, self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines unsupervised.
  • Ability to problem solve and analyse problems.
  • Accurate reporting and attention to detail with strong numerical skills.
  • Effective time management and organised approach.
  • Accurate report writing and stakeholder collaboration with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the timely and accurate provision of the Contract payment mechanism and audit data quality.
  • Work with managers to implement controls that improve data accuracy.
  • Check waste data flow information before sending to the client.
  • Check weighbridge data for faults and trends; report necessary changes.
  • Produce the monthly payment mechanism ensuring all elements are accurate and complete.
  • Produce monthly management reports and KPIs to managers as directed.
  • Support local Finance team with historic waste flow data and forecasting.
  • Submit data waste returns to regulatory bodies.

Finance Data Analyst

Salary: Up to £35,000 dependant on experience plus bonus other Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: hybrid working - minimum of 3 days per week at our Wirral office (CH41 1EB)

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage the timely and accurate provision of the Contract payment mechanism and audit the quality and completeness of the data provided within.
  • Work with managers and other staff to implement controls to improve the accuracy of the data.
  • Check the waste data flow information is correct before it is sent to the client.
  • Check weighbridge data identifying faults, trends and reporting to manager the change requirements.
  • Produce the monthly payment mechanism ensuring all elements are accurate and complete.
  • Produce monthly management reports and KPI's to managers as directed by the line manager.
  • Supporting local Finance team with providing historic waste flow data and forecasting.
  • Submission of data waste returns to regulatory bodies.

These are a summary of main duties only; other duties may be required to be fulfilled to meet the changing nature of operational activities.

What we're looking for:
Essential
  • Excellent IT Skills including advanced proficiency in spreadsheets (Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel) including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  • Good numerical understanding.
  • Well organised and self-motivated; able to work accurately to tight deadlines unsupervised
  • Ability to problem solve and analyse problems.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Time management and organised approach
  • Accurate Report writing and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and can build strong stakeholder relationship and collaborate effectively with senior leaders and team members in multiple groups
  • Must be a team player and understand the requirements for and commitment to business success.
Desirable
  • Waste management industry knowledge
  • Experience of weighbridge systems
