Job summary

University of Liverpool is seeking a Control Team Leader to join Finance Operations on an 18-month fixed-term contract. The role will lead financial control and reconciliation activities, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance while guiding a small team. Hybrid working with a mix of on-campus and remote work is expected.

Key duties include managing reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, system interfaces and process improvements to support the Finance Systems Transformation Programme.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a financial accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and accounting principles.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience leading and developing staff.
• Strong IT and financial systems skills, including advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team responsible for reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Oversee financial controls, system interfaces and process improvements.
• Ensure financial data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Support transition efforts for the future ERP environment.
