Job summary

PwC UK is seeking a Financial Control Lead to provide independent financial oversight and technical accounting expertise across assigned Lines of Service. You will work closely with Business Partnering, FinOps and FR&C teams to ensure outcomes are accurate and aligned with firm policies.

You will review results, challenge complex accounting matters and lead control activities across reporting cycles, audits and assurance processes while building strong relationships withFinance and business

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) with financial control experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and sound judgement in complex situations.
• Experience reviewing and challenging financial performance including revenue, costs, P&L, balance sheet.
• Understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised, results-focused with mentoring/coaching experience advantageous.

• Lead financial control activities across reporting cycles, audits and assurance processes, ensuring strong documentation, evidence and timely resolution of issues.
• Build trusted relationships across Finance and business teams, driving continuous improvement, promoting best practice and supporting colleagues through guidance, coaching and constructive challenge.

This Role Is For You If

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) with proven experience in financial control, accounting, audit or a related finance environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, with the ability to apply sound judgement in complex commercial and accounting situations.
• Experience reviewing and challenging financial performance, including revenue, costs, profit and loss, balance sheet and provision reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, governance requirements and reporting processes, including month-end, year-end and audit activities.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide constructive challenge and translate technical concepts into practical insights.
• Highly organised and results-focused, with strong attention to detail, integrity and problem-solving skills; experience coaching others and driving continuous improvement is advantageous.
