- Supporting month-end and periodic accounting routines, including assistance with trial balance preparation and reporting for the Society and its subsidiary companies.
- Monitoring and reporting on mortgage pools on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, helping to maintain accurate records and improve the quality of underlying data.
- Managing and maintaining associated records between subsidiaries.
- Assisting with regulatory and external reporting requirements, including Bank of England returns.
- Contributing to the development, testing and improvement of Finance and Treasury systems, reports, models, and software upgrades.
- Maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date procedure manuals and process documentation.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, authorised institutions, counterparties and other third parties.
- Preparing schedules, working papers, and supporting evidence for statutory accounts and external audit.
- Supporting meetings, projects and other related activities as required by line management.
Measures of success
- Financial transactions, journals, and reconciliations are processed accurately, completely and within agreed deadlines.
- Month-end, periodic and regulatory reporting activities are completed on time, with clear supporting evidence and minimal rework required.
- Control account reconciliations, mortgage pool records and Treasury back-office records are maintained to a high standard.
- Issues, exceptions, or data quality concerns are identified promptly, escalated appropriately, and followed through to resolution.
- Finance and Treasury stakeholders receive timely, professional, and reliable support.
