Job summary

Planteria Group, the UK’s leading interior landscaping specialist, seeks a Financial Controller to lead day-to-day finance and a team of five, reporting to the Finance Director. You will own month-end close, produce management accounts, and drive profitability and sustainable growth.

This office-based role at our Henham HQ in Bishop’s Stortford requires a professional accounting qualification and strong SME experience. We offer development opportunities and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience leading a Finance function in SME environment.
• Strong reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
• Advanced Excel and finance systems proficiency.
• Experience with VAT, PAYE, CIS and corporation tax.
• Commercial mindset with ability to challenge and support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and inspire the Finance Team with a high-performing culture.
• Own month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Produce and review management accounts with insightful analysis for decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting with department leaders.
• Drive cashflow management and working capital performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, credit control and transactional finance.
• Maintain robust financial controls and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve profitability and identify opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting capabilities.
