City Hospice is a compassionate charity, dedicated to empowering individuals during their end-of-life journey by providing knowledgeable and responsible care. We believe every person matters, and we strive to enhance quality of life while offering exceptional support to both patients and their families. The Finance & Commercial Director will be responsible for fostering a culture of financial awareness throughout the charity. This will enable staff to understand the charity’s finances and actively engage in contributing to the charity’s financial sustainability.

The Finance & Commercial Director will provide strategic and operational financial direction to the CEO, Trustees, and the charity’s senior leadership team. This includes delivering financial leadership that supports sustainable growth and enhances the charity’s long-term financial health. You will be responsible for the development and management of the annual budget in collaboration with the CEO and budget holders, the production of quarterly reforecasts, delivering insightful financial analysis and reporting, which will guide decision-making, and ensuring robust financial processes and controls are in place.

Additionally, the role demands a commercial focus, with responsibility for our retail operations and the line management of a Retail Operations Manager. Working together you will identify opportunities to optimise resources and develop income streams while maintaining clear alignment with the charity’s values and mission.

The Finance and Commercial Director will also be responsible for the charity’s digital infrastructure and IT requirements, ensuring these areas effectively support the organisation’s objectives, whilst ensuring that all the charity’s technological solutions are adaptable and resilient to future changes.
