Group Finance Portfolio Manager

Reporting to the Group Head of Change

Location: London with Hybrid working (likely 3+ days in the office)

About the job

The Group Functions Head of Change (GFHoC) aims to optimize the delivery of change projects across all Group Functions, including Group Finance. The role involves migrating project management to a single Portfolio Manager who will oversee all in-flight Group Finance change projects and manage the pipeline of potential projects, via the Group Finance Change Governance Forums, reporting to the Group Financial Controller and Group CFO. The Portfolio Manager will maintain dotted line reporting to senior stakeholders in Group Finance, including the Group Financial Controller, the Head of Group Tax, and the Chief Actuary.

You will manage individual projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery of business outcomes and benefits. This includes assembling and leading project teams with appropriate skills and leveraging resources effectively.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage each Group Finance project to deliver benefits, including creating and maintaining project plans, engaging teams, resolving issues, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Report progress regularly to senior stakeholders.
• Review project teams, identify synergies and efficiencies, and ensure teams are set up for success.
• Manage project teams for optimal leverage and efficiency.
• Work with Group Finance Leadership to deliver on Change Ambition.
• Align portfolio with EPM standards.
• Run Change Governance groups to align and optimize future initiatives.
• Develop and support change professionals in the team.

Requirements:

• Experience in Portfolio Management
• Leadership in finance change projects/programs/portfolios (finance knowledge essential)
• Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
• Relevant project/portfolio management qualification
• Experience managing challenging stakeholders up to executive level
• Proven project management experience with multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Full project lifecycle experience from inception to user acceptance and live operation
• Skilled in detailed project planning across people, processes, and systems
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Highly results-driven and energetic
