Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a growing business with an Accounts Assistant role in Wales. You will work in a small finance team, gaining mentoring from the Finance Director and aiming for succession into a senior finance role within 3–5 years.

Initially focused on Sales Ledger and Credit Control (60–70%), you’ll also gain exposure to wider accounting tasks and month-end procedures, helping with management accounts and P&L analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts, finance, sales ledger or credit control.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Motivated by long‑term career progression.
• Interested in studying towards an accounting qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger and oversee credit control activities.
• Chase outstanding debt and maintain customer relationships.
• Resolve account queries and reconcile customer accounts.
• Assist with month‑end procedures.
• Support the preparation of management accounts.
• Assist with P&L reporting and financial analysis.
• Process financial transactions and maintain records.
• Develop knowledge across the full finance function.
