Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant to join a small finance team in Caerphilly. The role focuses on Sales Ledger and Credit Control, with hands-on mentoring and a clear succession plan over 3–5 years.

You’ll help with month-end, management accounts, P&L analysis and wider accounting tasks, with a pathway to a senior finance position. Salary around £35,000 with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, study support, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts, sales ledger or credit control.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Keen to develop accounting knowledge and responsibilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing sales ledger and credit control activities
• Chasing outstanding debt and maintaining customer relationships
• Resolving account queries and reconciling customer accounts
• Assisting with month-end procedures
• Supporting the preparation of management accounts
• Assisting with P&L reporting and financial analysis
• Processing financial transactions and maintaining records
• Developing knowledge across the full finance function
