Information About The Role

As a Business Support Officer working on our Finance team, you’ll utilise your excellent customer service and communication skills to provide a comprehensive financial administration service to Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands (CTP WM). You’ll work on your own initiative, prioritise tasks accordingly, and ensure accuracy.

Based at our modern offices near Birmingham International Airport, this role is offered as full time. You’ll work Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, with some flexibility to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining systems to enable effective control of financial matters, ensuring records and assets are kept in accordance with policy.
• Providing detailed management information and analysis related to specific subject areas and monitoring reports.
• Undertaking financial monitoring to ensure accuracy of cost coding and highlighting spend variances to forecast.
• Providing guidance and overseeing coordination of data input for overtime and expenses.
• Managing purchase orders, ensuring criteria, deadlines, and procurement processes are adhered to.
• Preparing annual budgets, accounts, and quarterly returns.
• Maintaining a disbursement account and supporting reactive operational requirements.
• Ensuring audit control checks are performed correctly and on schedule.
• Supervising other staff in the absence of the Finance Supervisor.
