Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organised Management Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team. You will support monthly financial reporting, forecasts and analysis across assigned services, providing timely financial information to budget holders and managers.

The role offers development in financial management and business partnering within a large NHS organisation. A proactive, collaborative approach and attention to accurate data are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance environment with reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience in budget setting.
• ECDL or equivalent; proficient with financial systems/spreadsheets/databases; advanced keyboard skills.
• NHS financial knowledge including PLICs/SLR is desirable.
• Ability to plan and organise a broad range of complex activities.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of effective finance business partnering within your assigned areas.
• Assist with preparation of robust financial forecasts and operational/strategic financial plans.
• Support identification of financial risks and mitigating actions.
• Provide financial advice and support to managers, including reviewing business cases.
• Work with budget holders to support financial management and targets.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and aligned with monthly reporting timetable.
• Pursue professional development and NHS finance knowledge.
