Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Liverpool seeks a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to drive profitable decision‑making through robust analysis and strategic challenge. You will partner Retail Operations and regional managers, turning complex data into actionable insights across budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.

Key focus on improving store profitability, P&L analysis, and providing insight to influence commercial decisions with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial finance experience with the ability to analyse P&L performance, margins, price and volume drivers.
• CIMA/ACCA qualified with 3+ years experience in similar role within Retail, Leisure or Travel.
• Advanced modelling in Excel and visualising insights into Power BI or equivalent tool.

Responsibilities

• Partner with central Retail Operations, Profit protection Store Efficiency teams and regional managers to challenge performance, provide insight and influence business decisions.
• Produce and own weekly and monthly reporting, including KPI dashboards, variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Analyse the Retail cost base – store shrinkage, repairs and maintenance and store hours to understand key drivers of performance YOY and vs Budget.
• Conduct periodic reviews with regional managers to peer review performance across key metrics, including store profitability.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes, improving forecast accuracy and challenging key assumptions.

At B&M, we're looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support our Retail team, providing critical financial insight, robust analysis and constructive challenge that drives profitable decision‑making. Working closely with Central and Regional stakeholders across Retail Operations, you will play a key role in improving performance across a diverse store portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive finance professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing commercial decisions and turning complex data into actionable insights. You will be at the heart of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis, helping to maximise store profitability.

Key Responsibilities
