Job summary

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service in Winsford is seeking a qualified accountant to lead financial planning and business partnering, shaping resources for the Community Risk Management Plan. You will head a small planning team and work with budget holders, reporting colleagues and the Deputy Head of Finance.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with planning and budgeting experience.
• Strong reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with TechnologyOne and Power BI reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, forecasting, annual budget and medium‑term planning.
• Provide finance business partnering to senior managers.
• Consolidate revenue forecasts and explain movements.
• Coordinate pay/establishment forecasting with People and payroll.
• Monitor capital programme cost/timing and reporting.
• Assess business cases and investment options with risk analysis.
• Produce reports and committee papers with clear actions.
• Line manage the Assistant Accountant and planning support.
• Enhance TechnologyOne and Power BI reporting capabilities.
• Deliver finance literacy for budget holders.
