Job summary

Abcam, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Finance Business Partner for the Operations function in Cambridge. You will lead planning, budgeting and forecasting for P&L and capex, delivering insightful analyses and partnering with Operations, Commercial and Finance to drive strategic outcomes.

You will build robust financial models, maintain controls, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability across the business. On-site role in Cambridge.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Operations P&L and capex forecasting process including Gross Margin forecasting.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including capital investment appraisals, variance and trend analysis.
• Build strong relationships with key business leaders across Operations, Commercial and Finance to understand strategic objectives.
• Ensure SOX compliant controls for revenue and cost recognition.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

The Finance Business Partner - Operations is responsible for supporting the Abcam Operations function and Gross Margin reporting through consistent financial reporting and analysis, with full P&L and Capex responsibilities.

This position reports to the Finance Director, Operations, and is part of the Financial Planning and Analysis Team located in Cambridge and will be on site.

• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including capital investment appraisals, variance and trend analysis, and forecasting.
• Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with key business leaders across Operations, Commercial and Finance to understand their strategic objectives and provide financial expertise.
• Financial Controls: Ensure appropriate SOX compliant controls in place for both revenue and cost recognition
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Qualified accountant
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills (i.e. Excel).
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in financial planning systems and tools.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with Oracle
• Experience with Tableau/Power BI
