Job Description
Role Purpose: To support the Operational Leadership Team and wider business through analytical insight; commercial business decision support; provision of relevant, timely information to ensure informed and ‘optimal’ decisions are made; to provide commercial challenge to channel owners to help drive improved contribution, highlighting risks and opportunities to plans and forecast as they arise and help drive mitigation/exploitative action, planning & forecasting of channel sales and cost lines.

Key interfaces: CFO, Commercial Finance Director, Operational Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, BI Developer, Hospitality
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Report
- Support, challenge and provide analytical insight - analyse current and past trends in KPIs highlighting commercial opportunities and risks to revenue, margin, costs thereby driving channel contribution and profitability. Ensure KPIs remain appropriate for measurement of performance.
- Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management and executives for decision making purposes.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Own/deliver the budget, financial forecasting and operating plans and process for your channels.
- Ensure smooth sign off with relevant directors.
- Monitor performance against budget/forecast with relevant stakeholders on a monthly basis and feedback highlights to the finance team via the monthly P&L meeting.
- Own payroll budget.
- Business Partnering
- Own/deliver business reporting for your channels that is fit for purpose – using Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports.
- Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies.
- Prepare presentations to Exec Board and Senior Management Team.
- Coach non-financial managers in understanding information and using analysis to manage the business.
- Develop close working relationships with key contacts to enable the business to understand planned activities and their impact.
- Prioritize customer support accordingly and actively seek feedback to monitor how information provided has contributed to effective decision making.
- Strategic Planning
- Oversee 5 Year Plan from a commercial finance perspective ensuring all project benefits are built into subsequent plans/forecast. Develop tracking mechanisms to measure improvements and that performance against projects are monitored with learnings built into future projects.
- Gain insight from market metrics and attend conferences and third-party events where possible to expand network and gain further understanding of market conditions.
- Risk & Ops Management and mitigation
- Manage risks & ops through monthly performance cycle with business partners & stake holders.
- Keep a record of risks & ops from sales through to trading profit, working through challenges with relevant stakeholders and plans to mitigate risks.
- Ad-Hoc analysis & projects
- Evaluate new business proposals, support decision-making through commercial analysis of initiatives along with sensitivities/best case & worse case scenarios. Evaluate from an ROI and IRR perspective to ensure proposal meets company criteria and are aligned with business priorities.
- Perform ad hoc analysis as required from stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy of data and analysis provided by the team and the ability to produce reports and data in a timely manner.
Role Specific Criteria
We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, ability to write / use macros, index matches, if formula, pivots etc.
- Ability to develop data platforms and commercial reports. Proven track record in delivering and creating company reports.
- Experience in multi-unit retail/restaurant environments.
- Strong leadership experience.
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task at speed.
- Articulate with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
- Use of Business intelligence platform, such as Power BI, D365 or similar tools (desired).
- Ability to manage objections and conflicts effectively (desired).
- Experience of Microsoft DAX (desired).
- Experience of D365 (desired).
