SF Partners in Walsall is seeking a Finance Business Partner (Finance Manager) to sit close to the operational leadership team. You’ll challenge decisions, turn financial information into actions and partner with senior non-finance leaders to influence strategic outcomes.

You’ll manage a small team of two Finance Assistants/Analysts, own monthly close and reporting, develop forecasting models, and drive improvements in finance systems and processes to support growth.

Formación

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA

Job Title: Finance Business Partner (Finance Manager)

Location: Walsall

SF Partners is partnering with a leading global organisation in Walsall to recruit a high-profile Finance Business Partner position. Sitting close to the operational leadership team and reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll be expected to get under the skin of business performance, challenge decisions, spot opportunities and turn financial information into actions.

This is a broad role that combines finance business partnering with hands‑on financial reporting. You’ll work closely with operational leaders across the business, providing financial insight and challenge, while remaining actively involved in the core finance cycle.

You’ll also take responsibility for managing and developing a small team of two Finance Assistants/Analysts. This would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business but equally understands that good business partnering starts with strong financial information, robust reporting and getting the fundamentals right.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a business partnering service to business units, supporting and challenging the management team in delivering its results
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the senior operational team, directors and business unit leaders
• Influence the strategic decision‑making process and develop forecasting models to support business planning
• Develop and interpret insightful analytical tools to drive business performance, including profitability and overhead cost analysis
• Maximise finance and other business systems to develop a suite of management information that meets the evolving needs of the leadership team
• Manage and develop 2 Finance Assistants/Analysts, providing day‑to‑day support, direction and oversight
• Drive standardisation and efficiency across business processes to improve the quality, accuracy and availability of business information, including system changes and potential ERP implementation
• Support due diligence projects and business integrations as part of the non‑organic growth agenda
• Take an active role in the month‑end process, including the production and review of the income statement and balance sheet, understanding variances and identifying opportunities to improve performance
• Support and maintain a strong financial control environment

Who we're looking for:

• You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong commercial instincts and the confidence to operate with senior people outside finance
• You will preferably have team management or supervisory experience
• More important is your ability to challenge, influence and communicate
• You’ll probably be the person who asks the extra question when the numbers don’t quite make sense. You’ll be comfortable challenging an operational director when necessary, but commercially astute enough to know how to take people with you.
• Experience within a sizeable, fast‑moving or operationally complex business would be relevant, as would exposure to ERP development, business transformation or acquisition integration.
