Finance Business Partner – Adult Social Care

Fixed Term, 9 months

Full Time, 37 hours per week

Salary: £48,219 to £56,729 per annum

Working Style:

This role involves delivering high-quality financial advice within a service area, providing comprehensive support and innovative advice to management and Members. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting financial results and influencing decision-making by understanding costs and risks.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with internal and external partners, influencing stakeholders and contributing to management forums. Collaboration in improving efficiency and cost reduction plans across the Council will be key.

Accountabilities:

1. Support the business by understanding financial assets, liabilities, and priorities, presenting options to drive change and improve efficiency.
2. Partner with Service Directors and stakeholders for financial performance management, pricing, investment analysis, and support business planning.
3. Provide high-quality management information, using insightful analysis and financial modelling to support business development.
4. Support cross-organisational projects, ensuring commercial and value considerations are included for transparent decision-making.
5. Collaborate with finance teams to develop and review financial policies and plans aligned with strategic objectives.
6. Ensure delivery of value-for-money services by analysing financial trends and driving efficiencies.
7. Prepare robust business cases, quantifying costs, benefits, risks, and funding solutions, and being accountable for financial implications.
8. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and legislation changes.

Required Experience:

• Full CCAB / CIMA qualification with ongoing professional development.
• Experience in financial management within the public sector, covering a full financial cycle.
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and awareness of the political environment.
• Proven ability to improve financial systems and processes with a focus on performance.
• Experience in providing financial advice for decision-making.
• Ability to establish credibility and work effectively with management teams and networks.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams to achieve service outcomes.
