Job summary

South Derbyshire District Council in Swadlincote is seeking a Finance professional to join the team on a fixed-term basis up to 12 months. The role focuses on revenue and capital budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring robust financial data is available to managers.

You will work with two Finance Business Partners to support accounting services, providing timely financial insights while contributing to council-wide financial governance and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting within local government settings.

• Experience reporting financial data to managers and non-financial colleagues.

This exciting opportunity plays a key role in the management of the Council’s core financial responsibilities. The desired candidate for this role will have demonstrable experience in Local Government.

Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will work alongside 2 Finance Business Partners to assist in the provision of excellent and effective accounting services, in particular the postholder will be responsible for revenue and capital budget monitoring and setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and reporting on key financial data within the organisation to both financial and non-financial managers
