Qualifications

Job description

Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

Role Overview: The role is crucial in ensuring organizational effectiveness and compliance with external and internal reporting requirements. You will supervise various functions within the finance department, focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, staff development, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
  2. Assist with grant applications and claims.
  3. Support grant and verification audits.
  4. Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
  5. Prepare monthly management accounts and variance reports.
  6. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
  7. Provide project management support.
  8. Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
  9. Promote GDPR compliance and cybersecurity within the department.
  10. Line management and staff training, including staff development and mentoring.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance role within a large, diverse organization.
  • Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of ISO or other quality management systems.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience with grant funding, including claims and applications.
  • Experience managing and mentoring staff.
