Job summary

FERA SCIENCE LTD in Sand Hutton is seeking a finance professional to support month-end close, forecasting, and variance analysis. The role covers costings, revenue analysis, and delivering accurate management information.

You will work with non-financial managers, help develop processes and assist with annual business planning. The ideal candidate is part-qualified or studying toward an accountancy qualification with a commitment to finance career development.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or studying towards an accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to model financial scenarios.
• Experience with large datasets and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month end accounting processes including journals, forecasts, variance analysis and costings.
• Prepare and present Management Information and other financial reports.
• Conduct cost and revenue analysis to monitor performance.
• Support with financial planning including annual business plans.
• Collaborate with non-finance managers to provide management accounting advice.

Job description

• Supporting the management of month end accounting processes including preparation of journals, forecasting, variance analysis and costings
• Preparation and presentation of Management Information and other financial reports
• Cost Analysis
• Revenue Analysis
• Management of the development of processes and financial analysis reporting to improve the business's ability to monitor performance.
• Support with financial planning, including annual business plans
• Support with other areas of the finance team as required, including, but not limited to, accounts receivables, accounts payable, bids, financial governance
  Whether you're part-qualified, studying towards an accountancy qualification, or have equivalent experience, we'll support your development and help you build the skills needed to progress your finance career., Part-qualified or working towards an accountancy qualification, or qualified by experience. Qualification funding can be supported.
• Experience of working in close partnership with non-financial managers, providing management accounting advice, support and challenge
• Use of standard IT packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced)
• Good management accounting experience.
• Experience of working with large data sets and financial modelling
• Highly organised individual, with good attention to detail
• Experience of working as part of a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build sound working relationships
• Previous experience using NetSuite (Oracle) and/or other finance systems.
