Cedar is recruiting on behalf of a leading events and hospitality business for a commercially focused Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth company delivering large-scale events across the UK, including some of the biggest names in music, sport, and entertainment.

Candidates must have proven experience working in a commercial finance or business partnering role.

The role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and project managers to take financial ownership of high-profile events. Your responsibilities include building budgets, analyzing P&Ls, influencing decision-making, and improving processes to ensure commercial success across the portfolio.

Duties

• Ownership of event P&Ls, including detailed analysis of revenue, gross margins, and staffing costs
• Building and maintaining event budgets and rolling forecasts
• Delivering insights through variance analysis and financial modeling
• Partnering with operations and project teams to track and manage spend
• Ensuring purchase orders are raised and costs are tracked
• Preparing month-end accounts, reconciliations, and supporting audits
• Producing financial reports and identifying key trends for decision-making
• Maintaining and improving budgeting systems
• Experience in a finance business partner, project accountant, or commercial analyst role
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc.)
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Confidence to challenge stakeholders and present data clearly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Hospitality, events, or live entertainment experience is advantageous
• Experience with project accounting systems like Paprika
• Part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with ongoing studies
