Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Finance Business Partner for the Healthcare and Specialist Logistics sector. The role is based in Banbury/Derby with hybrid working and travel across sites. You will provide financial insight, drive performance, and support decision-making in a high-volume environment.

You will partner with operations, customers, and internal teams to align commercial and financial objectives, with a focus on profitability and growth in a dynamic logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a similar level role with experience of the above requirements.
• Ability to self direct and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to influence key decision makers at all levels.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and terminology.
• Relevant financial qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent - essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support to Finance and ops management to ensure data integrity and manage risks/opportunities.
• Advise finance and operations teams with commercial knowledge.
• Support locations across multiple sites financially and commercially as required.
• Own site/contract forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Manage customer-facing financial responsibilities per contract.
• Own financial planning and control for sites/contracts.
• Conduct investment appraisals with analyses for Ops/Finance and advise on actions.
• Collaborate on new business proposals and assess commercial input.
• Coordinate and report Start-Up budgets.
• Implement planning and P&L reporting at new sites.

Finance Business Partner - Healthcare and Specialist Logistics

Location: Banbury / Derby

Benefits include Car allowance £7000, 26 days annual leave. We offer hybrid working. Site is Banbury, however we have an exciting start up in 2027 based in Derby and some travel will be required on a regular basis.

Join us as a Finance Business Partner and play a key role in supporting an exciting period of growth within a new sector. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you'll provide financial insight and commercial support that helps drive performance, influence decision-making, and deliver value for both the business and our customers.

As a trusted partner to Operations, customers, and internal stakeholders, you'll act as the vital link between finance and the wider business. You'll work collaboratively across teams, ensuring commercial objectives are aligned with operational delivery while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and performance.

We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. Whilst experience within logistics is advantageous, we're equally interested in candidates from other customer-centric sectors such as retail, FMCG, manufacturing, hospitality, service, or other high-volume operational businesses where building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders is key to success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

1. Provide operational support to Finance and operational management team to ensure the integrity of the reported numbers whilst managing commercial risks and opportunities for the business.
2. Provide commercial knowledge base and advise for finance community as well as Operational community.
3. Provide Commercial and Financial support to operational locations across multiple sites / contacts as required
4. Ownership of Forecasting and budgeting process for sites / contracts
5. Own customer facing responsibilities in line with contractual requirements
6. Ownership of all financial planning and control for sites / contracts
7. Investment appraisal - Provide analytical and decision making information as required by the Ops and Finance - and where necessary receive/advise on the appropriate actions to capitalise on opportunities or mitigate risks
8. Work with Ops and Business Development team in the creation of new business proposals and projects and assess the commercial and contractual input.
9. Start Ups - Co-ordination, production and reporting of Start Up Budget and Operating Budgets
10. Establish a robust planning and implementation of business systems and processes at new operational site(s) including weekly and monthly P&L reporting
