Finatal are currently engaged with a SaaS business in the insurance space, going through fast-paced growth after a recent investment. Over the next 12–18 months, they are focused on driving data-led decision-making and commercial insights to push revenue growth further. They are now looking for a BI Lead who can fit comfortably within the finance team, reporting to the CFO. This role will be pivotal in defining and building out KPIs, managing internal data, and supporting financial control processes while providing key insights to senior leadership. Initially, the position will be hands-on, but there is potential to expand the team as the business continues to scale. You will work across the business to define and manage KPIs, implement data solutions, and ensure accurate financial reporting, while collaborating closely with the CTO, CFO, and CEO

Role:

• Collaborate with executives and cross-functionally to design, implement, and refine KPIs across various business functions, including Finance, Sales, Product and Marketing, etc.
• Support core financial processes by reviewing and signing off on day-to-day finance work (led by a Finance Analyst), including ownership of the monthly management accounts close process (2-day turnaround).
• Ensure accuracy and compliance through the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and maintain key financial controls.
• Manage and maintain the chart of accounts to enable clear, consistent business reporting and scalable finance operations.
• Lead the development and automation of financial and operational reporting, utilising Azure, PySpark, and Power BI to provide real-time, data-driven insights.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical grounding in financial reporting and controls.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar, within a SaaS or high-growth, tech-enabled business.
• Strong understanding of core finance processes, including monthly close, reconciliations, and oversight of financial outputs.
• Hands-on technical experience in Azure, PySpark, and Power BI, with the ability to build complex financial and operational dashboards.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership, communicate complex data clearly, and influence decisions through insight.
• Experience building and defining KPIs from scratch, particularly around product and customer usage, and managing internal data sets with a focus on finance and operations.
