Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role.
• Strong reconciliation experience and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions with accuracy.
• Good understanding of core finance processes (purchase and sales ledgers).
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.

• Processing a high volume of financial transactions accurately and efficiently
• Performing regular bank, supplier, customer, and account reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
• Supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Processing invoices, payments, receipts, and journals
• Assisting with month-end finance tasks and reporting requirements
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Responding to internal and external finance-related queries
• Assisting the wider finance team with administrative and ad hoc accounting duties

Finance Assistant (Temporary up to 6 Months)

Location: St Columb Major, Cornwall
Salary: Up to £15.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary, up to 6 months
Hours: Full-time

Butler Rose is pleased to be recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a well-established organisation based in St Columb Major, Cornwall. This temporary opportunity is expected to last for up to six months and would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a busy environment with a strong focus on high-volume transaction processing and reconciliation work.

Joining a friendly and supportive finance team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial records remain accurate, up to date, and reconciled across multiple areas of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing a high volume of financial transactions accurately and efficiently
• Performing regular bank, supplier, customer, and account reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
• Supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Processing invoices, payments, receipts, and journals
• Assisting with month-end finance tasks and reporting requirements

About You:

• Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance role
• Strong reconciliation experience and a keen eye for detail
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining excellent accuracy
• Good understanding of core finance processes, including purchase and sales ledger activities
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Available at short notice or immediately available candidates are highly desirable
