Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant to join the finance team and develop toward an Accountant role. The role offers a 50/50 split between Purchase Ledger duties and broader finance responsibilities, delivering exposure to month-end activities, stock control, fixed assets and financial reporting support.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in finance, accounts, purchase ledger or admin.
• Graduate with an Accountancy Degree looking for first role considered.
• Accountancy Degree or AAT qualification minimum.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims (Purchase Ledger 50%).
• Prepare and process supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end processes, including journal preparation.
• Support fixed asset tracking and stock takes.
• Assist with annual stocktakes and ongoing inventory cycle counts.
• Support operational reporting and finance process improvements.
