Job summary

IPS Group Limited in Harrogate is seeking an Assistant Accountant to provide essential daily financial support to the Finance team. You will handle transactional finance, payroll administration, month-end reporting, budgeting activities and financial analysis in a fast-paced environment.

You will also assist with year-end processes, month-end closings, asset registers and ad hoc reporting, while liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve queries and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified, part-qualified or studying toward AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
• Experience in a similar finance role and month-end exposure.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero/Sage/QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier and customer transactions and maintain ledgers.
• Reconcile supplier, customer and balance sheet accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll (weekly/monthly) and timely submissions.
• Support monthly management accounts; prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports and ad hoc analysis for decisions.
• Maintain fixed asset register and accounting system records.
• Support year-end accounts, audits and statutory reporting.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders on queries.
• Contribute to process improvements and general finance admin.
