Job summary

Iceland Foods is seeking a proactive Finance Assistant to join our International & Partnerships Finance team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. The role covers purchase orders, invoicing, sales ledger administration and customer account management, supporting cross-functional Finance activities across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity to build experience in finance, working with colleagues across the group and developing professional skills within a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Dynamics) desirable but not essential.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• AAT or willingness to study towards a professional qualification (desirable).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Raise Purchase Orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring correct coding and approvals.
• Support sales ledger activities, including maintaining ledgers and resolving queries.
• Support with customer recharges and sundry invoicing.
• Support with claims and raise customer credits.
• Provide administrative support to the wider finance team.
• Respond to internal and external finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Support audit processes by preparing required documentation.
