Confidential in the Wirral area is seeking a Finance Assistant to join a busy, supportive team. You will gain exposure across multiple group entities and work closely with experienced finance professionals to ensure smooth day-to-day finance operations.

The role involves processing invoices, reconciliations, month-end tasks and continuous process improvements, with hybrid work and a strong focus on developing your career in finance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or transactional finance role.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience working with large volumes of data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and finance systems.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and desire to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Daily bank postings and reconciliations.
• Purchase ledger reconciliations and invoice processing.
• Sales ledger reconciliation support.
• Posting invoices and credit notes onto the finance system.
• Preparing monthly reports and spreadsheets.
• Assisting with reconciliations and month-end finance activities.
• Investigating and resolving account and variance queries.
• Liaising with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc projects and process improvements.
