Michael Page is seeking a Finance Assistant near Wirral to support a busy finance team. You will handle transactional activities, maintain ledgers and assist month-end processes while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Hybrid working arrangements apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or transactional finance role
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience working with large volumes of data
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and finance systems
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and desire to learn and develop

Responsibilities

• Daily bank postings and reconciliations
• Purchase ledger reconciliations and invoice processing
• Sales ledger reconciliation support
• Posting invoices and credit notes onto the finance system
• Preparing monthly reports and spreadsheets
• Assisting with reconciliations and month-end finance activities
• Investigating and resolving account and variance queries
• Liaising with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc projects and process improvements
