Job summary

Go Swag in Glasgow is seeking a part-qualified Finance Assistant to help keep the money side of the business accurate. You will process supplier invoices, raise customer invoices, and support month-end under guidance from the Finance Controller.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup 3 days a week from our Glasgow HQ, with flexibility. Training will be provided on our systems and processes, and you’ll develop strong numeracy, Excel, and accounting software skills while handling high volumes with care.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified AAT (Level 3 or above) or ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience.
• Supports month-end: journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar and strong Excel/Google Sheets.
• Multi-currency transactions, VAT returns or international supplier payments.
• Experience in manufacturing, ecommerce, promo merchandise or order-driven business.
• Checks supplier quotes against invoices and understands job costs or margins.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, match them to orders and purchase documentation, and resolve queries with suppliers directly.
• Raise customer invoices accurately and on time, then chase outstanding payment and keep the aged debt list moving.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements and control accounts, flagging anything that doesn't tie out.
• Support month-end with journals, prepayments and accruals under the Finance Controller's guidance.
• Build knowledge of how a merch order flows through the business, from quote to supplier cost to customer invoice.
• Take on more ownership of month-end and reporting as your exams progress.
