Job summary

Yolk Recruitment in Cardiff is recruiting a Finance Assistant to join a fast-paced SME with a hybrid (cardiff) work arrangement. You’ll own day-to-day finance activities, support month-end, and work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate records.

The role covers purchase and sales invoicing, payroll support, VAT-related tasks, and maintaining project cost allocations. AAT qualification or progress toward it is preferred, with strong Excel and Xero skills.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification, studying towards AAT, or equivalent bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in day-to-day bookkeeping, ideally within an SME.
• Good working knowledge of Xero.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day finance function and month-end support.
• Process purchase invoices and supplier payments.
• Raise sales invoices and maintain billing schedules.
• Support credit control and chase outstanding payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and post journals.
• Assist with payroll and payroll administration.
