Job summary

Swindon Town Football Club is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team. You will support accurate financial processing, maintain internal controls, and keep financial information up to date in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires attention to detail, proficiency with Excel and accounting software, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve queries promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or accounts role, or studying towards AAT (or similar) and eager to develop.
• Organised, accurate, confident with numbers.
• Comfortable using accounting software and Excel.
• Clear communicator and able to build relationships across departments.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices, match to purchase orders, and maintain supplier records.
• Prepare and issue sales invoices across departments including commercial, retail, and hospitality.
• Assist with daily bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance.
• Support credit control activity, including chasing outstanding payments professionally.
• Maintain accurate records for matchday income, retail takings, and other revenue streams.
• Assist with month‑end processes including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Help monitor departmental budgets and provide information to managers when required.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team and contribute to continuous improvement of processes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the club, ensuring financial queries are handled promptly and professionally.
