Job summary

Trial Balance is recruiting a Finance Assistant for our South West client, based in Bideford. The role is full-time, with part-time considered and a permanent contract; there is potential for a four-day week for the right candidate.

You will report to the Finance Manager and handle petty cash, bank reconciliations, vehicle records, month-end reporting, and cross-location liaison to resolve discrepancies. Excel and SAGE familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Ideally part or fully-qualified AAT.
• Proficient with MS Excel; experience with SAGE preferred.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Manage petty cash and ensure timely replenishment.
• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple locations.
• Maintain records for vehicles (MOT, insurance, servicing).
• Support month-end reporting and general finance administration.
• Collaborate with managers to resolve discrepancies and provide financial information.
• Keep financial records accurate, compliant and well organised.
