Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking a Finance Assistant in Rodmell, near Lewes, for a full-time, permanent role. The salary is circa £40,000 DOE, with study sponsorship and a clear path toward ACCA or equivalent qualifications.

You will work closely with the Finance Director and Business Manager, handling supplier and project accounting, WIP reporting, and cash flow tasks. Immediate availability is preferred, with a strict notice requirement for others.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified with progression towards ACCA or equivalent.
• A few years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
• Essential CIS knowledge for construction industry.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and standard accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier and overhead invoices and reconcile with POs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and respond to supplier inquiries.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and issue remittances.
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor accounts in finance systems.
• Prepare CIS-related subcontractor payment certificates and verify deductions.
• Process customer applications for payment and receipts; manage sales ledgers.
• Monitor debts and generate weekly aged debtor reports.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and weekly cash flow reporting.
• Prepare monthly WIP reports and reconcile balances.
