Finance Assistant - Permanent - £26,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)

Hybrid working - Mondays and Fridays working from home, and Tues, Weds, Thursday in the Office

Hours of work - 7am - 3pm daily, with 1 hour for lunch

This is a superb opportunity to join our Reading-based client, who has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to serve a diverse client base. Due to this growth, they are seeking a Finance Assistant / Cash and Banking Specialist to join their experienced, close-knit Cashiering and Credit Control team. The working hours are from 7am to 3pm, reflecting the industry requirements and collaboration with the Credit Control team.

The client offers training in certain areas, making this role suitable for candidates eager to start their finance career, whether from college, university, or transitioning from retail roles, and now looking to embark on a finance career. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Processing and producing daily Direct Debits and BACs transfers
  2. Investigating all unallocated cash
  3. Identifying and posting all unallocated payments onto the respective customer accounts
  4. Posting daily bank statements
  5. Checking and processing all un-cashed cheques
  6. Occasionally performing some Credit Control duties

Your profile as a Finance Assistant will include:

  1. Ability to provide high-quality customer service
  2. Proficiency with in-house systems, Word, Excel, etc.
  3. Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
