Job summary

Arm in Carterton is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the financial operations of a leading defence and aerospace business on a contract basis.

The role covers costs, payroll support, treasury, accruals, forecasting, and cost analysis, with close work alongside the finance team to ensure accurate posting and reporting.

Initial contract to 30 June 2027, inside IR35 at £32/hour, on-site. The role offers opportunities to drive financial improvements and deliver timely insights.

Qualifications

• Finance knowledge including debits/credits, cash, and P&L.
• Experience forecasting cash flow.
• Experience supporting financial controllers.
• Ability to produce cost centre reports and analyze variances.
• Familiarity with procurement coding and cost allocation.
• AAT or CIMA qualifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Controller in costing, payroll support, treasury, accruals and cost allocations.
• Maintain cost, revenue, and cash forecast for the entity or function.
• Collaborate with operations to forecast resources and cost impact.
• Record and evaluate risks or opportunities; assist in OP and FC processes.
• Liaise with managers to control operating costs and external costs and procurement.
• Provide analytics for financial performance reporting and month-end close activities.
• Assist with invoicing processes to internal and external customers.
