Job summary

Line Up Aviation seeks a Finance Assistant to support the Financial Controller in transacting, analysing operational costs and completing payroll accounting support, billing and treasury tasks. The role requires strong Excel skills and familiarity with accruals and cost allocation.

Based at Brize Norton, you will work on an 8-month contract, 35 hours per week, with a pay rate of £32 per hour via Umbrella, and inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• AAT Level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• Strong Excel skills to analyse and manipulate financial data.
• Understanding of accruals, journals, cost allocation, revenue and variances.
• Experience in finance, accounting, cost control or financial analysis environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain forecast for cost, revenue and cash for the business/entity.
• Collaborate with operations to forecast resource plans and costs.
• Record and evaluate risks or opportunities.
• Assist in regular operating plan and financial controller processes.
• Act as liaison for managers to understand and control costs.
• Input and advise on external costs and internal resources.
• Coordinate with procurement on open commitments and cost recognition.
• Support financial performance reporting with analysis.
• Track costs and revenue allocations and explain variances.
• Produce analytics for local operational management.
• Present to local management and customers.
• Support resource reporting requirements.
• Ensure spend aligns with contracts and single sourcing.
• Provide ad hoc reporting for MOD and UK Government agencies.
• Coordinate end-of-month postings and accruals with TFEU teams.
• Support invoicing processes to internal and external customers.
