Job summary

Lt Talent is seeking a highly organised Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function for UK, Ireland and USA entities. This hands-on role covers transaction processing, ledgers, VAT, stock accounting and month-end tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong Sage 50 experience and a proven ability to handle high volumes accurately, with an emphasis on attention to detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role.
• Sage 50 Accounts experience is essential.
• Strong Excel skills with formulas and pivot tables.
• Experience with VAT, multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
• Experience in FMCG/retail/e-commerce environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting across multiple entities including AP/AR, banking, journals and ledgers.
• Manage invoicing, payments and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies quickly.
• Reconcile e-commerce sales, fees, refunds and settlements across online channels.
• Support month-end/year-end processes including accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with VAT, statutory reporting and import-related accounting.
• Maintain inventory, fixed assets and costing records.
• Produce financial reporting and analysis to support forecasting and cash flow.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, suppliers and customers to improve processes.

Job description

We’re partnering exclusively with an established but fast-growing beauty and personal care brand who are looking for a highly organised Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function across their UK, Ireland and USA entities.

This is a hands-on role covering transaction processing, purchase and sales ledgers, bank and credit card entries, e-commerce accounting, VAT, stock and inventory accounting, month-end support and financial administration.

The successful candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Sage 50 and be confident processing a high volume of financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

Sage 50 experience is mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting across multiple entities, including AP/AR, banking, expenses, journals and general ledger.
• Manage invoicing, payments and reconciliations, quickly resolving discrepancies and account queries.
• Reconcile e-commerce sales, fees, refunds and settlements across online channels.
• Support month-end and year-end, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations and audit preparation.
• Support VAT, statutory reporting and import-related accounting.
• Maintain accurate inventory, fixed asset, costing and landed cost records.
• Produce financial reporting and analysis to support forecasting, cash flow, profitability and commercial decisions.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, suppliers and customers to improve processes and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance role, with strong hands-on Sage 50 Accounts experience (essential).
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, purchase/sales/general ledger and day-to-day accounting processes.
• Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end procedures, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Good understanding of UK VAT and experience supporting VAT return preparation.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independently.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or qualified by relevant experience.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, beauty, manufacturing or e-commerce environments.
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting and international transactions.
• Exposure to online marketplaces, inventory/stock accounting, manufacturing costs and landed cost calculations.
• Experience with import VAT processes and related accounting.
