Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant - Assistant Accountant to join their team in Horsham, West Sussex. The role will support the Financial Controller with core accounting tasks in a busy office environment.

The position is office-based in Horsham, offering a salary of £27K, Monday to Friday 9-5. The successful candidate will have experience in similar roles and be studying AAT or ACCA/CIMA, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance Assistant role.
• AAT qualification or ACCA/CIMA student—keen to study.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and prepare the monthly payment run.
• Assist with the annual year-end statutory audit.
• Support with bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records.
• Assist with analysing the management accounts.
• Raise and control the issue of purchase orders.
