Howett Thorpe is seeking an entry level Finance Assistant near Woking to join a growing, well-established organisation. The role is office based and suits a driven individual looking to start a career in finance.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a competitive salary and strong career progression. You will report to the Finance Manager and handle Accounts Receivable / Credit Control, while gaining exposure to other finance duties as the team develops.

Qualifications

• Active desire to pursue a career in finance.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be a car driver.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the collection of outstanding customer debts across the UK entities.
• Monitor aged debt and elevate issues in accordance with agreed procedures.
• Build strong relationships with customers to facilitate timely payment and dispute resolution.
• Support cash collection forecasting.
• Maintain accurate customer account records within the ERP system.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support bank reconciliation processes as required.
• Maintain petty cash records and reconciliations.
• Generate credit notes as required and ensure all necessary approvals.
