Job description

NES Fircroft is partnering with a client in Sheffield who is looking for a Finance Assistant to work with them on a contract basis.

This role plays a key part in managing the company's VAT, PSA, and other taxes. It is a support function to the treasury department and the main point of contact for all expenses. The successful candidate will support ICC with reconciliations and statements, as well as resolving issues in a timely manner.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage 10 internal and 3 external bank accounts
2. Perform daily upload of FX rates, allocation, and posting of cash receipts
3. Serve as the first point of contact for all cash-related questions
4. Support treasury functions with FX deals
5. Liaise with project managers regarding FX deal actions on their projects
6. Handle IC recharges (Group Fees) and ad hoc charges
7. Complete month-end journals
8. Assist with overseas VAT reporting
9. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support the business

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in SAP, VAT, and banking processes
• Working towards or completed AAT studies
• Experience in preparing manual journals
• Experience in preparing bank reconciliations
• Knowledge of UK taxes and Intrastats
• Ability to take responsibility for tasks and manage time effectively
• Experience working as part of a team

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Five GCSEs graded A-C (or equivalent)
