This temporary role, with the potential to become permanent for the right person, focuses on accurate transaction processing, reconciliations, month-end duties and supporting audits and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience with reconciliations and high-volume transaction processing.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
• AAT study advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders.
• Raise and process sales invoices.
• Manage supplier statement reconciliations.
• Assist with payment runs and supplier payments.
• Post cash receipts and allocate customer payments.
• Bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain customer and supplier accounts.
• Support month-end processes including accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare finance reports and spreadsheets as required.

This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the successful candidate.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

• - Processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders
• - Raising and processing sales invoices
• - Managing supplier statement reconciliations
• - Assisting with payment runs and supplier payments
• - Posting cash receipts and allocating customer payments
• - Bank reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies
• - Maintaining accurate customer and supplier accounts
• - Supporting credit control activities and chasing outstanding debt
• - Resolving invoice, payment and account queries
• - Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments
• - Preparing finance reports and spreadsheets as required
• - Maintaining finance records and ensuring data accuracy
• - Supporting audits and compliance activities
• - Assisting with ad hoc finance and administrative duties

About You

• - Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• - Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• - Experience with reconciliations and high-volume transaction processing
• - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• - Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• - Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• - Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• - AAT study or qualification would be advantageous but not essential
