Job summary

Your Recruiters Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Finance Assistant to support sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and general accounting duties on a temporary, full-time basis. You'll collaborate with the Financial Controller, build relationships with customers and suppliers, and gain exposure to various facets of the accounts function, with tasks rotating rather than repeated.

Qualifications

• Experience in Finance Assistant/Accounts Assistant, Sales Ledger or similar role.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, including VAT and reconciliations.
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or similar.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mix of sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and general accounting duties.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller and wider business.
• Interact with customers and suppliers, pursuing outstanding payments.
• Enjoy varied tasks and not performing the same activity all day.

Job description

Salary: £14-£15 per hour (depending on experience)

Temporary - Full Time with immediate start

Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider business, you'll take responsibility for a mixture of sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and general accounting duties.

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same task all day. You'll have the opportunity to use your existing finance experience, build relationships with customers and suppliers, and get involved in different aspects of the accounts function.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger or similar finance role.
• A good understanding of bookkeeping principles, including VAT and reconciliations.
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or similar.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers, including chasing outstanding payments.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Even better if you have:

• Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or a similar industry.
• Previous experience using Sage 50 or an ERP system.
• A background in credit control.
• AAT qualifications or are currently studying towards them.
