Job summary

As a Finance Assistant, your role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations of the company. By ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, you contribute directly to the strategic decision-making process. Your work not only facilitates efficient financial management but also enhances our ability to meet overall organisational goals

The team is involved in supporting the Operations Service Line who run large multi million pounds/multi year contracts for the wider UK business in addition to smaller ad hoc projects. The role is varied, interesting and challenging.

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment, which consists of three days in our London offices, with the flexibility of working from home for the remainder.

Your day to day

These are the types of things you can expect to be doing during your day to day, although as Ipsos is a dynamic organisation , this may vary as different opportunities arise:

  • Work closely with and supporting the Assistant Finance Business Partner to produce and deliver monthly financials.
  • Deputising for the Assistant Finance Business Partner as and when required.
  • Provide financial/systems training and support to project managers.
  • To take responsibility for job maintenance. Specifically:
  • Manage financial integrity of projects – for . ensuring project forecasts are created and are kept up to date, project end dates are correct, supplier invoices are approved etc.
  • Invoicing clients is done on time and accurately.
  • Building relationships across the teams to help them manage their financials.
  • Review current day to day working practices with a view to drive efficiency.
  • To provide general assistance to staff on financial matters.
  • To provide any ad hoc support to the team as required

About you

These are the areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role.

  • Ideal role for someone interested in pursuing a finance career or has some exposure to working in a finance environment
  • Previous experience in a finance department and familiarity with ERP systems is preferable, but not essential

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with an ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
