Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £28.5,000 DOE (Full - time, permanent)

About the role

Artus Air is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to work closely with the Finance Manager and Logistics team in a cross-functional role that will support both the accounts and purchasing functions, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of 40+ live projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in financial processes, supplier coordination, inventory purchasing, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key areas of the role will surround:

Finance:

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring approvals and accurate coding
  • Prepare domestic and international payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and company credit cards
  • Manage AP/AR ledgers, including customer invoicing and payment tracking
  • Verify and process staff expenses in line with policy
  • Support month-end close: accruals, journals, and ledger adjustments
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical financial records
  • Coordinate daily with Sales and Production to monitor order readiness
  • Communicate delivery timelines to customers and internal teams
  • Oversee third-party logistics and internal transport for efficient execution
  • Manage the full fulfilment cycle, resolving issues proactively
  • Maintain system updates and customer notes for seamless operations
  • Contribute to process improvements across logistics and customer service
  • Ensure quality standards and contractual

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:

  • Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping, including double-entry and month-end close
  • Proven experience in logistics, fulfilment, or supply chain within fast-paced environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across teams and with external partners
  • Customer-focused with a professional, problem-solving approach
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaborative team player with a hands-on, flexible mindset
  • Growth-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive
