Howden in Milton Keynes invites applications for its Finance Apprenticeship Programme 2027. Start date is September 2027 with a permanent role from day one while you complete an 18‑month development programme.

You’ll work in-office 3–4 days a week and live within a commutable distance, following a Level 3 Accountancy apprenticeship. You’ll gain real finance experience, earn £23,000, and qualify through structured learning and hands-on exposure to expenses, invoices and supplier payments.

Qualifications

• Confident with numbers and keen to understand how finance works.
• Organised and able to follow clear processes.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy and attention to information.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication; receptive to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Learn how employee expenses are managed and use the expense system to review submissions.
• Check expense claims against company rules for accuracy and cost alignment.
• Support corporate credit card costs and ensure proper approvals are in place.
• Review supplier invoices and assist in preparing them for payment.
• Help set up new suppliers with due diligence checks and accurate data.
• Maintain clear expense records and respond to employee questions across the business.
• Escalate missing information or issues to Accounts Payable Manager.
